Q1: What crops can this seeder actually handle?
Mainly small-seed crops like carrots, onions, scallions, cabbage, lettuce, rapeseed, sugar beets, and radishes. Different crops need different seed discs - the hole size and pattern vary. You also need to change the gearing for row spacing. We have a selection chart we can send over.
Q2: How does the fan get its power?
Standard setup uses the tractor's PTO - that's the simplest and our default. If you're running it in an orchard or greenhouse where PTO isn't handy, we offer an electric motor option. But you'll need a power source or generator on site.
Q3: Does the seed disc clog up over time?
Not really, under normal dry-field conditions. There's a blow-off feature on the back side that clears dust off the suction holes as it runs. At the end of the day, just rinse with water and let it dry. If you're working in heavy clay or high humidity, slow the ground speed down and bump up the fan RPM - that usually takes care of it.
Q4: Will this fit my older tractor?
Most tractors with a Cat I or II three-point hitch and 540 RPM PTO will work. Some brands have slightly different hitch dimensions though. If you're not sure, just send us your tractor model and we'll check it for you - better than finding out it doesn't fit after delivery.
